resource win four BSIA Annual Security Officer Awards 2009 |

resource win three "Outstanding Act Awards" and one "Best use of Technology Award" from the British Security Industry Association's Annual Security Officer Awards 2009.
David Keogh, Dave Cheeseman, Peter Longdon and Julius Oni are all based at customer sites for resource, the UK and Ireland’s most innovative support services company.
David Keogh works for resource at one of our prestigious Belfast City Centre locations.
He won the award for his quick-thinking actions and the life-saving first aid he performed when first on the scene after a shopper collapsed in the centre, sustaining a serious head injury.
Dave and Peter are employed by resource on a busy contract in South Yorkshire.
Both officers were nominated for the professional and fundamental roles they play in extremely stressful conditions.
Dave received the Outstanding Act award when he was alerted to a person who had attempted to end their life. After attending to their wounds and alerting the emergency services, paramedics who arrived at the scene later confirmed that the officer’s actions probably saved the persons’ life.
Peter was nominated for his Best Use of Technology award for providing expert CCTV surveillance services to monitor events and provide essential assistance to other officers and the emergency services.
Julius Oni, is an officer at a prestigious shopping centre in Manchester, he received his award for his compassion when he prevented a person from attempting to end their life. Julius showed outstanding forward thinking, using distraction and also building up a rapport with the person, ensuring they remained calm until the emergency services arrived.

resource’s top staff have been honoured at a gala awards ceremony held at the prestigious Devere Oulton Hall in Leeds as part of the company’s UK and Ireland Senior Management Conference on 16th April 2008.
The event’s top award – resource employee of the year – went to Marion Sharpe, receptionist, based at the company’s Northern Ireland head office, who received a Mitsubishi Colt Convertible to mark her achievement.

resource signs three year contract with Foyleside shopping centre |

Support services company, resource has signed a new contract worth over £750,000 to supply cleaning services to Foyleside Shopping Centre in Derry over the next three years.
resource, the largest Irish-based support services company, will be responsible for providing cleaning, security and hygiene services for the shopping centre. The company will also provide the cleaning services contract for Foyleside’s new food quarter, which opened in May 2008.
Eilish Doherty, Operations Manager resource said: “We’ve been providing cleaning services for Foyleside for the last 4 years and we’re delighted to be awarded this new extended contract. We’re now able to offer the shopping centre a bundled services contract, which means better value for Foyleside as one specialist team will provide a range of support services, working closely with centre management to provide its shoppers with the best in customer care.
“The new contract also means that we have had to employ seven extra people, bringing the total number of people we employ at Foyleside to over 50.”

Forestside shopping centre signs multi-million ground-breaking deal with resource |
A new concept in looking after customers in shopping centres is being introduced at Forestside in Belfast, where a multi-million pound contract has been signed between the centre’s managing agents, BTW Shiells, and Ireland’s leading soft services company, resource.
The 250,000 square feet shopping centre has appointed resource to provide a bundle of services – from housekeeping and security to waste management and hygiene – all under the control of one team who will work in partnership with the centre management team.

resource helps Belfast clean up in the Celtic Cup |

resource, Ireland’s leading soft services company, is helping Belfast Primary School Football Association’s Under 12 football team clean up in this year’s Celtic Cup.
The company has provided the team with new specially commissioned clothing in advance of its bid for glory in the competition which will take place in the Billy Neill Soccer Centre in Dundonald on May 9th and 10th.
The annual competition, which is held in alternating countries, will include teams from Belfast, the Isle of Man, North Dublin and Dumfries & Galloway.

resource helps ‘Clean Up’ North Belfast School |

Employees from resource, Ireland’s leading soft services company, are pictured helping spring clean classrooms at Sacred Heart School in Old Park Avenue in North Belfast.
The company teamed up with Business in the Community to volunteer its services to help paint the school’s classrooms, lay new carpets and help with the general cleaning.
resource employees were at the school on Friday 25 April and will return on Friday 16th May to complete their work.

Intel Ireland Awarded Outstanding Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility Accolade |
Intel Ireland has won the Overall Outstanding Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Responsible Employers Award at Chambers Ireland’s President’s Awards for CSR, which were held in Dublin last night (25/09/08).
The judging panel selected Intel Ireland after a competitive short-listing process for the sustained excellence of their CSR programmes. Intel has been an industry leader in CSR for many years and this award further validates their commitment.
The fifth annual awards were partnered by Business in the Community Ireland, run in association with the Department of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and kindly sponsored by resource. Each winner was presented with a specially commissioned trophy designed by Waterford Crystal.
