resource staff triumph at top awards

resource has featured strongly at the Northern Ireland region of The British Institute of Cleaning Services held recently at the Belfast Education and Library Board Headquarters.

Six resource staff received awards and official recognition for their valuable efforts after being nominated by their employer in categories including Manufacturing, Education, Hospitality and Leisure, Office and Retail.

resource employee Kevin Brolly was named the overall winner in the Manufacturing category for his work at Michelin with an additional five shortlisted staff members awarded for their efforts across a range of clients.

Employees Linda Gillen and George Dickey were shortlisted in the Manufacturing category for their work at Michelin while Christine Isabel Romao received recognition in the Office category for her work at the Northern Bank in Randalstown. Staff member Declan Smith, who works at the Bushmills Distillery was also shortlisted in the Hospitality category with Robin Bowman awarded in the Education category for his work at the University of Ulster.

Four staff nominees also received a Certificate of Commendation including Elaine Junkin, who works at St Louis Grammar Schoolin Ballymena as well as Christine McGall from Ballymena Academy. Marta Kozoil and Lisa Kincaird received acknowledgement for their efforts at Queen’s University.

BICSc, as it is also known, is an independent body with members in all areas of the cleaning industry including Local Authorities, Contract Cleaners, Manufacturers, Suppliers, Trainers and cleaning operatives.

The evening, which was hosted by Joanne Ramsey, MBICSc and BELB Facilities Manager, with guest speakers Ms Lynn Webster FBICSc, BICSc National Chairman and Stan Atkins CEO of BICSc aims to highlight the rising standards and well deserved recognition for the cleaning services sectors
